The main objective of this study was to determine whether the use of the English PQRST reading technique could improve the reading ability of the students of SMAN 3 Palopo. This study used a pre-experimental design. The population in this study were tenth graders of SMAN 3 Palopo, totaling 14 students as the research sample selected in 1 class of 30 students. The researcher used pre-test and post-test samples as the research instrument. Based on the research findings, the results showed that the use of the PQRST reading method in English strategies could improve students' reading comprehension. It was proven by the increase in scores from 36.89 to 44.23 (44.23-36.89 = 07.34) before the average treatment. the average pretest and after treatment the average posttest was 44.23. in other words, the use of the PQRST method can improve the reading comprehension of tenth graders of SMAN 3 PALOPO.
