The objective of this research aimed to find out the students‟ pronunciation in speaking ability at the second grade of SMAN 02 Luwu. The subject of this research was the second- grade students in s e n i o r h i g h s c h o o l i n s o u t h S u l a w e s i , t h e y w e r e of the 15 students were selected students from class 2 IPA from 3 classes, namely 5 students from XI IPA 1, 3 students from XI IPA 2, and 7 students from XI IPA 3. The researcher applied purposive sampling. Then the researcher analyzed the data used descriptive qualitative as the design of this research. The data collections technique used in this researcher were observations and reading test. The observations were to know the students in pronouncing English words. During the presentation students experienced students mistake the pronunciation of vowels, for example a, i, u, e and o, silent consonant, disguise the letter i in misword and other.
