Fitrah Amalia Leman. 2023. An Analysis of Student’s Anxiety in Speaking Performance of the Seventh-Semester Students at the English Education Study Program at Cokroaminoto Palopo University (Supervised by Rizal A.M Sjachrun and Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman)
The aim of the research is to find out the factors of students anxiety in speaking performance of the seventh-semester students at the English Education Study Program at Cokroaminoto Palopo University. The method used was the application of qualitative method. The data were gathered through classroom observation, interview session, and contributed the questionnaire. The results showed that there were two factors, namely internal factors and external factors which had the most influence on performance speaking in class 7A of the seventh semester students at the English Education study program at Cokroaminoto Palopo University. The most dominating internal factor is fear of making mistakes, the second factor is lack of confidence, the third factor is lack of motivation, then the next factors is nervous, and the last factor is shyness. While in terms of external factors, the lack of preparation is the highest if the anxiety factor, while the second factor is embarrassment, the third is friend/classmate factor, then the next factor is limited vocabulary and the last factor is grammatical errors.
