Abstract
Didin Pranata. 2022. Post Covid-19 Pandemic an Investigation for What English Teacher Strategies for SMP Negeri 6 Palopo (supervised by Sri Damayanti and Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman).
This research deals with the teacher’s teaching strategies in post pandemic covid-19 at SMPN 6 Palopo. The data collected by interview (guided-interview) which consists of 10 questions with the English teacher as a respondent. Furthermore the data has been analyzed qualitatively using three steps of data analysis technique namely developed and applied codes, identified themes, patterns, and relationships, and the last summarized the data. The results of this research indicate that the teaching and learning process in the new normal era at SMPN 6 Palopo back to direct face-to-face learning and not applying online learning anymore. During the pandemic students’ understanding was very lack because they only focused on assignments and lack of practice. As the solution, the teacher taught students step by step like learning from the beginning again. From the data obtained by the researcher, the English teacher revealed that for this semester the students focused on practical teaching it consisted of 3 strategies applied in the post pandemic period they were (1) demonstration, (2) simulation, and (3) role play; where those strategies integrated to speaking skill.
