Mika Rinto. 2023. The Students’ Reading Comprehension Ability at the Eighth Grade of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang (Supervised by Hafirah Patang and Rahmawati Upa’).
The research aims to find out the students’ reading comprehension ability at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang. The population of this research was the eighth grade students at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang and the samples of this research were 20 students. The researcher used descriptive quantitative method to knew the students’ ability in reading. The instrument of this research was a reading test. The reading test consisted of multiple choice form and answer the question form. The researcher found that the mean score of students’ reading comprehension is 35.75. It can be concluded that the students’ reading comprehension at the eighth grade of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang is low and need to be improved.
