Abstract
Sitti Aisyah, 2023. Improving Students’ Vocabulary in Telling Personal Experiences by Using Picture at SMPN 1 Malangke (Supervised by Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman and Suhardi).
This study aims to determine the extent to which picture media is effective in teaching students' vocabulary in telling personal experiences related to class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Malangke. The sampling technique for this study was total sampling involving one class. The number of samples in this study were 20 class VII students and the total population is 20 students. The research design used was the pre-experimental method carried out at SMPN 1 Malangke. The population of this study were students of SMPN 1 Malangke, which consisted of 20 students. Total population is 20 students. The sample of this research is 20 students. The results of the study show that pictures can improve students' vocabulary at SMPN 1 Malangke. This is supported by an increase in student scores on the pretest and posttest where the average student score on the pretest is lower than the posttest (34.16 <84.53). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the results of the pretest and posttest, as evidenced by the t-test which is smaller than the T-value (0.00<0.05). This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.
