This study aims to determine the improvement of short story reading comprehension using the TikTok application in grade XI students of SMA Negeri 6 Palopo. TikTok is a social media platform that has various features that allow users to create and share creative short videos, which can involve visual and audio elements. This can make reading material more interesting and not boring, so it can increase students' interest in reading, especially in learning English. The researcher used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental research design, with the research subjects being 30 students of class XI Celebes. Data were collected by conducting a pre-test and a post-test. The result of this study shows that the use of short stories through the TikTok Application can improve the reading comprehension of eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Palopo. It can be seen from the mean score of students in the pre-test and post-test. The mean score of students in the pre-test was 64.17, lower than the students' score in the post-test, 93.33. In addition, asymp. sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 ˂ 0.05, so it is stated that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion that can be obtained is that there is an average value of students' learning outcomes from both the pre-test and post-test. Using short stories through TikTok can improve the reading comprehension of eleventh-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Palopo.
