Pronunciation is one of the essential aspects that need to be considered because it will directly affect students’ ability in communication. This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of tongue twister technique in improving students’ pronunciation, specifically on the selected vowel and consonant sounds. The subject of this research consisted of 25 students at the the tenth grade of SMAN 6 Palopo in academic year 2024/2025. This was quantitative research with pre-experimental design, used one group pre-test and post-test. The researcher utilized test and questionnaire as the instruments. Based on the test results, the researcher concludes that the students mean score in the post-test was higher than the pre-test (83.96>53.20). The paired sample t-test was utilized in analyzing the students’ scores and testing the hypothesis. The researcher found that the sig. (2 tailed) was 0.000, which was smaller than α (0.05). The null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the tongue twister technique has a significant effect towards students’ pronunciation. The result of the questionnaire also indicated that most of students have positive impression of the use of tongue twister in pronunciation learning.
