Tharis Ayuh. 2025. The Use of Word Wall in Improving Student’ Vocabulary Mastery (supervised by Rahmawati Upa and Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman)
This research aims to determine whether the use of Word Wall application can improve students’ English vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade of SMAN 6 Palopo. The researcher used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design involving one group of 25 students. The instruments used were pre-test and post- test vocabulary assessments. The treatment was conducted over four meetings using various Word Wall interactive features, such as "Open the Box", "Group Sort", "Find the Match", and "Speaking Cards". The results showed a significant improvement in students' vocabulary mastery. The mean score increased from 52.40 in the pre-test to 92.00 in the post-test, with statistical analysis through the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test showing a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that the use of Word Wall significantly improves students’ vocabulary mastery. The study concludes that interactive digital media, such as Word Wall, is effective in enhancing vocabulary mastery among senior high school students.
