Marbela Candra Pratama. 2025. The Use of Youtube Video to Enhance Students’ Speaking Ability of Tenth Grade Students at SMA Negeri 13 Luwu Timur (guided by Reski Yusrini Islamiah Yunus and Sri Damayanti).
This research aims to determine the enhancment of speaking ability by the implement of YouTube video as media in Problem Based Learning Model of tenth students at SMA Negeri 13 Luwu Timur. The background in this research lies in the students dificulty in speaking due to several factors such as limited vocabulary, less of practice, and students motivation. The researcher used quantitative method with pre-experimental research design, consist of one class pre-test and post-test. The subject of this research was students of class 10 consist of 36 students. The data was collected throught speaking test. Furthermore the result of this research showed students’ speaking ability improved after the integration of YouTube videos and PBL, students became confident and engage during learning process. which mean there was the diferencess effect before and after intervention. It can be seen from mean score in pre-test and post-test. In the pre-test mean score of students was 33.11 while in post-test was 44.67. Additionally, the result from SPSS showed that asymp.sig (2 tailed) was 0,000 < 0.05 which mean Ha accepted and H0 rejected. It can be concluded that there was enhancment of students’ speaking ability of tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 13 Luwu Timur through the use of YouTube as media in PBL model. However, the enhancment was not highly significant but there was still improvement. More consistent and longer treatment may be needed to see highly significant.
