Mellis Rante Tuma’bi 2025. The Effects of Using Word Mapping Strategy on vocabulary acquisition at The first grade of SMA N 13 Luwu Timur (supervised by Sri Damayanti and Reski Yusrini Islamiah Yunus).
This research aims to find out whether there is an effect of using word mapping strategy on students’ vocabulary acquisition at their first grade of SMA Negeri 13 Luwu Timur. This research used quantitative method and the sample of this research is consisted of 25 students of grade X. The instrument used a vocabulary test, consisting of 15 questions given before and after treatment. Based on the data analysis using a paired t-test showing a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05), which indicates difference between the pre-test and post-test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, the average score increased from 43.20 in the pre-test to 83.16 in the post- test after being given treatment. This shows that there is an effect of using word mapping strategy in improving students’ vocabulary acquisition.
