Abstract

Jusnah Magefira Faisal, 2025. The Use of Digital Storytelling in Teaching Reading Comprehension for the Eight Grade of Junior High School Students (Supervised by Paldy and Rahmawati Upa’)
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of using digital storytelling media in learning reading comprehension for 8th grade students at junior high school. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The instrument used is a reading test. Data collection uses pre-test, treatment, andpost- test. Data is collected from the pre-test and post-test analyzed via the SPSS version 25 application, namely the research results show that the use of digital storytelling in teaching reading comprehension is effective. This is proven by the average score of 22 students during the post-test of 85.18 which is higher than the average score of 22 students during the pre-test of 54.68. That means there is significant difference between pre-test and post-test after being given treatment. The significance level for the pre-test (p) is 0.20, while for the post-test (p) it is 0.09. Based on the significance results presented in the table, the researchers can conclude that table 5 is normally distributed, as the value (α) of 0.05 is less than the significant value (p). so it can be concluded from the statement above that the use of digital storytelling is very effective in learning reading comprehension and the researcher's data is normally distributed as proven by the SPSS test in table 5.
