This research aims to find out the effect of using the list group label strategy in improving students’ vocabulary skills. The study used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design in the form of a pre-test and post-test. The subjects were 20 eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Palopo. The instruments used were multiple-choice and matching word tests to measure students’ vocabulary ability before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed using a t-test with the help of the SPSS program. The results showed an increase in the average score from 34.60 in the pre-test to 70.65 in the post-test. The t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), which means there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. These findings indicate that using the list group label strategy is effective in improving students’ vocabulary skills. Therefore, the list group label strategy can be used as an alternative for teaching vocabulary in a more interesting and contextual way.
