Masnaeni. 2025. The Use of Youtube Videos to Improve Students Pronounciation Sills at SMAN 5 Palopo (supervised by Andi Mangnguntungi S. dan Rahmawati Upa’).
The objective of this research is to examine wheter or not the use of YouTube video effective in improving students’ pronounciation at SMAN 5 Palopo. This research used quantitative method with quasi-experimental design in which to attempts to investigate wether or not YouTube video has significant effective to improve students’ pronounciation with focused on students’ vowel, consonant, diphthong, word stress, and intonation. the method of this study is quantitative with a pre-test and post-test quasi experimental design. The sample was obtained by using purposive sampling technique that resulting in two classes with 22 students in each class. The results of this research shows that the used of youtube videos can be improve students pronounciation of the twelveth grade at SMAN 5 Palopo. It can be seen from the mean score from students in experimental class in the pre-test 48.64 and 45.68 control class. The mean score in post-test experimental class was 81.59 and 77.05 for control class. It indicates that the students’ improvement in the post-test was higher than alpha (α) (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the research hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded youtube video was an effective in improving students’ pronounciation skills at SMAN 5 Palopo.
