Gebi Amalia Rusli Rauf. 2025. The Use of Short English Videos to Improve The Vocabulary of Eleventh Grade Students At SMAN 6 Palopo ( supervised by Rahmawati Upa and Reski Yusrini Islamiah Yunus)
This research aims to determine whether the use of Short English Videos can improve the vocabulary of eleventh grade students at SMAN 6 Palopo. This study uses a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design in the form of a pre-test and post-test design. The subjects in this study were 20 students in grade XI at SMAN 6 Palopo. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test to measure students’ vocabulary ability before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed using a t-test with the help of the SPSS program. The results showed an increase in the average score from 56.25 in the pre-test to 85.25 in the post-test. The t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), which means there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. These findings indicate that using Short English Videos is effective in improving students’ vocabulary skills. Therefore, Short English Video can be used as an alternative for teaching vocabulary in a more interesting and contextual way.
