A.Khaerunnisa. 2025. The Influence the Make a Match Learning Model on Irregular Verb Learning Outcomes in Eight Grade Students at SMPN 3 Larompong (Rizal A.M. Sjachrun and Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman)
This study aims to determine the influence of the make a match learning model on students’ learning outcomes in the material of irregular verbs at SMP Negeri 3 Larompong. The research employed a quantitative approach using a one- group pretest–posttest design. The participants were 24 eighth grade students who received learning activities through the make a match model. The data were collected using multiple-choice and matching tests administered before and after the treatment. The results were analyzed using normality testing and a paired sample t-test through SPSS. The findings show that students’ average pretest score was 57.08, which increased to 78.54 on the posttest. The paired sample t-test revealed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the make a match model. Therefore, it can be concluded that the make a match learning model is effective in enhancing students’ mastery of irregular verbs. This model not only encourages active student participation but also creates an enjoyable learning environment that positively contributes to learning achievement.
