This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the semantic mapping strategy in improving vocabulary mastery among seventh-grade students at MTSS Al-Falah Lemahabang. The research employed a pre-experimental design with a sample of 32 students selected randomly from a population of 210. Data were collected using pre-tests and post-tests comprising 25 questions in multiple- choice, matching, and essay formats. Prior to the intervention, most students were classified in the lower proficiency levels, with none achieving an "excellent" classification. The treatment, conducted over four sessions, focused on themes such as animals, fruits, transportation, and food, with evaluations conducted after each session to assess progress. The results showed a significant improvement in students' vocabulary mastery, as indicated by the transition from lower to higher proficiency classifications in the post-test. The paired sample t-test revealed a mean difference of -31.219, with a p-value of 0.000, confirming the statistical significance of the improvement. The findings demonstrate that semantic mapping effectively enhances vocabulary acquisition by engaging students and facilitating retention. This study underscores the potential of semantic mapping as a practical and impactful teaching strategy for vocabulary learning in English language instruction.
