The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of rainbow spin media in teaching student vocabulary, especially noun. This research uses pre
experimental method. The population of this research is class I student of SMPN
02 Suli Barat which is consisted of 3 classes, each class is consisted 20-25 students.
This research uses cluster random sampling. The sample of this research was 22
students of class 7B. This research used SPSS 20 to analyze the data. The data was
taken by using test. The result of this research showed that using rainbow spin
media in teaching vocabulary can improve students' vocabulary skills. It is proven
by the difference between students’mean scores in the pre-test and post-test,in the
pre-test students the mean score is 40.45 which is classified as very poor and in the
post-test is56.59 which is classified good or fairly good. The results of data analysis
shows the t-value of the significance is 0.000 and the result of the statistical analysis
for the level of significance (α) = 0,05, α = 0,05 > significance (0,000). It can be
concluded H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. It means there is significance
improvement between the result of pre-test and post-test of students’vocabulary
after treatment by using rainbow spin.
