This research was conducted to know the students‟ ability in differentiating
derivational and inflectional suffixes. This resesarch used descriptive quantitative
research. The research used purposive sampling technique to determine the
sample. The researcher chose twenty students as the sample. The instrument of the
research was a test The result of this research shows that most of the students of
Palopo Cokroaminoto University especially students of fourth semester master the
material about mophology in this case derivational and inflectional suffixes well.
The data shows that 70% students get excellent score and 30% students get good
score. The average of students score was 81,8%. There is no student get average
or poor score.
