Dirgahayu. 2025.The Use of Picture Strip Story in Improving Student Vocabulary at The Eighth Grade Student of SMP Negeri 1 Bua (supervised by Sri Rahayu and Andi Mangnguntungi S)
This research is quantitative with a pre-experimental one-group pretest and posttest design. Data collection in this study was conducted using test instruments: a pretest and posttest administered to determine students' initial abilities before receiving the treatment, and a posttest administered after receiving the treatment to determine their ability to understand the material. The tests were in the form of multiple-choice questions and word matching. The tests were administered to 27 respondents, students of SMPN 1 Bua. Data analysis was performed using the normality test and test paired samples t test . The results obtained were significant value of the test is 0.001. By using the decision making rule based on the significance value with α= 0.05 it can be concluded that the value of α = 0.05 > is significant (0.001) so the conclusion is to reject H0 (accept H1) meaning there is a difference in the average pre-test and posttest scores without using the picture strip story media. The indicates the success of implementing the method in the classroom.Therefore, it can be concluded that there has been an improvement of vocabulary in the use of Picture Strip Story in the learning process.
