This study aimed to determine the use of picture series animation in teaching writing recount text in E-Learning. The researcher applied the pre-
experimental method, consist of pretest, treatment and posttest design. The sample
of the research was class VIII SMPN 4 Malili which consisted of 25 students. The
sample was taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The researcher
analyzes the data by using statistical product and service solution (SPSS). The
result of the research showed mean score in the pretest is 45.40 and the mean
score in posttest is 88.23. The researcher also find that the p-value was 0.000 and
the � is 0.05, therefore p < � (0.000 < 0.05). It means that the alternative
hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It was
concluded the use of picture series animation is effective in teaching writing
recount text in e-learning.
