This thesis aimd at finding out whether the use Word Wall Media is effective or not in teaching vocabulary to the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Palopo. Word Wall is one media in teaching vocabulary. Furthermore
the learners can use it to get and share new vocabulary. This research used pre
experimental research and it was conducted in six meetings. In every meetings,
the researcher gave different themes of noun and verb (Part of body, names of
animals, names of fruits, things at school and infinitive verb). Pre-test and Post
test were carried out face to face both in groups and individually. The population
in this research were 211 students at the seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2
Palopo. In determining the sample, the researcher used purpose sampling
technique and there where 23 sample in this research. In this research, the
researcher used instrument test. The instrument test were 30 vocabularies list in
english which was translated into indonesian using metching test. Furthermore,
the data of this research was analyzed by using SPSS program version 20. The
finding of this research shows significant diffrence between the students’ mean
score in pre-test and post-test. The students’ pretest scores were low and after
being treatment the students’ posttest scores increased. The used of Word Wall
Media is effective to improve students vocabulary.
