Indahsari Tonapa. 2021. An Analysis of Students’ Motivation on Virtual Learning in English Language during Covid-19 at the Third Grade Student of SMK Negeri 1 Palopo (Supervised by Hafirah Patang and Andi Mangnguntungi S.)

This research aims to find out the students’ motivation in English language at the third grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Palopo and to find out how do the students’ motivation to learn English doing virtual learning in covid-19 pandemic
at SMK Negeri 1 Palopo. The subject in this research were 15 students at the third
grade of SMKN 1 Palopo. The instrument of this research was interview. The
result of is research shows that (1) students are motivated to learn English because
English is an international language. In addition, they learn English because of
selfmotivation without any encouragement from other. They also learn English
because they would like to be able to communicate with native speaker. (2)
Unfortunately, since the covid-19 pandemic, students’ motivation in learning
English was decreased.
