This research aims to determine the use of technology in teaching English at SMKN 5 Luwu. This research focuses on how the teachers use technology and type of technology. The types of technology that is used in the classroom such as
as visual (printed media, LCD projector), audio (speakers, radio, tapes recorder,
audio compact disc, Mp3, Mp4), audio-visual are the media which can be seen
and heard such as television and film. Audio-visual presents complete
communicative situation. This research used a qualitative method. The population
in this research is all English teachers at SMKN 5 Luwu. The instruments of this
research are questionnaire and interview. The result of data analysis shows that
the English teachers at SMKN 5 Luwu used technology in English teaching
process and the types of technology are media-based computers and mobile
devices. The result of questionnaire and interview proved that English teachers
used technology, and students responses to the use of technology are very
positive. English teachers also have difficulties in using technology, such as
network constraints and level of understanding technology.
