Emi. 2020. Teachers’ Strategies in Managing Disruptive Behaviour Made by theStudents in Learning English at SMP Negeri 2 Palopo (supervised by Rusdiana Junaid and Rahmawati Upa’)

The research aims at finding out to know disruptive behaviors made the students
and the teachers’ strategies in managing disruptive behaviors made the students in
learning English at SMPN 2 Palopo. The population of this research is the English
teachers and the first grade students of SMPN 2 Palopo. The researcher used
purposive sampling to choose samples. The researcher applies descriptive design
of qualitative method. Based on the data analysis, the researcher finds that there
are three students’ disruptive behaviours in learning english at SMPN 2 Palopo.
They are lateness, talking and unexcused exit from the class and there are five
teacher’s strategies in managing students’ disruptive behaviours in learning
English at SMPN 2 Palopo as follow: business-like consequences, active body
language, brief choice, chat time with student and curbing violence.
