Frischa Sarira 2024. The Implementation of Outdoor Activities to Improve Vocabulary Competence at Seventh Grade Students of SMPN 4 Wotu (supervised by Hafirah Patang and Andi Mangnguntungi S.)
This thesis aims to determine the vocabulary competence of seventh grade students of SMPN 4 Wotu by implementing Outdoor Activities in Teaching- Learning Process. The researcher used quantitative method with pre-experimental research design. The population of this study was students of SMP Negeri 4 Wotu, with a total population of 204 students, while the sample consisted of 23 students. This study used random sampling technique to determine the sample. In collecting data, researcher conduted pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using paired sample t-test. The researcher found that there was a significant difference between the students' mean score in pre-test and post-test. The average score of students in the pre-test was 55.65%, while the average score of students in the post-test was 82.74%. Based on the results of the paired sample t-test which showed that (2-tailed) < α (0.000 < 0.05), the is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test data. Therefore, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The researcher concluded that the implementation of outdoor activities can improve students' vocabulary comptence.
