This research aims at determining The Effectiveness of Snake and Ladder
Learning Media in Teaching Writing at SMAS PGRI Walenrang. The subjects of
this research is the eleventh grade students of SMAS PGRI Walenrang in South
Sulawesi. The researcher applied cluster random sampling. The method that used
in this research is pre-experimental design. The instrument research was writing
test. The result of this research in eleventh grade at SMAS PGRI Walenrang is
increase. This shows that there are significant differences between students score
in pre-test and post-test. The mean score of the students’ pre-test 49,96 classified
poor is lower than the post-test is 86,52 classified reasonably good. Furthermore,
the researcher found that ɑ (0.05) was higher than the p-value (0.000). It indicates
that H1 was accepted and Ho was rejected. As a result. There is a significant
difference between the result of pre-test and post-test after giving the treatment by
using snake and ladder learning media. Therefore, the researcher concludes that
snake and ladder learning media is effective in teaching writing in the classroom.
