This research aims to improve students’ vocabulary mastery by using Flashcards media. The subject of the research was the eighth grade students’ at
SMP Negeri 1 Walenrang. The method used in this research is a pre-experimental
design. The population of this study was the eighth grade stundents’ of SMP
Negeri 1 Walenrang class A, and there were 20 participants attending the process
and during the process, it was found out that the students active in the class. The
research instrument is multiple-choice. The result of this study showed that after
used flashcards media in teaching Vocabulary in the eighth grade of SMP Negeri
1 Walenrang increased. This shows that there was a significant difference in the
mean scores on the pre-test and post-test. Average score of the research pre-test
was 54.50 and post-test was 87.50. It can also be seen, the results of t-test where
shows P-value < α (.000<0.05). That is
is rejected and
is accepted. It
means, there is significant difference between the results of the pre-test and post
test after treatment. Therefore, the researcher concluded that using flashcards
media in teaching vocabulary can improve students’ vocabulary mastery.
