The purpose of writing this study was to find out how students’ perceptions toward online learning. The researcher method used is an online questionnaire (open-ended questionnaire) to 17 student respondents in English
education study program in the fourth-semester class. Data has been analyzed using
qualitative descriptions. The results of this research indicate that the Students
perceptions about the online learning system they have ever lived are that they
feel it is not effective because lecturers cannot explain directly and most do not
have interesting teaching methods so that students find it difficult to understand,
cannot meet face to face with friends in the class so it is not exciting. In addition,
during online learning students met many obstacles such as unstable network,
difficulties in providing internet packages and lack of communication between
lecturers and students.
