This research described the correlation between students’ vocabularymastery and listening skill of the seventh semester at English Education Study
Program at Cokroaminoto Palopo University. The problems that should be answered in this research were: (1) what is the students vocabulary mastery and
listening skill of the seventh semester at English Education at Cokroaminoto
Palopo University (2) Is there any correlation between students’ vocabulary
mastery and listening skill of the seventh semester at English Education at
Cokroaminoto Palopo University. The subject of this research was the seventh
semester of the seventh semester at English Education at Cokroaminoto Palopo
University. There were 50 students in the seventh semester. The data of this
research were collected through vocabulary test and listening test. Then the mean
score of students of vocabulary mastery was 67.6 and the mean score of students
listening skill was 56.8. Then all data were analyzed through quantitative method.
By using product moment formula, the final result shows that rxy is 0.625. For N
= 50, r table in 5% fault is 0.279 and 1% fault is 0.361. It appears that rxy is more
than r table. It means that the null hypothesis (Ho) was denied and the hypothesis
alternative (Ha) is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant
correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and listening ability. The
direction of correlation is positive correlation and sufficient category
