Novelinda Rarung Tambak. 2022. Dictation Method in Teaching Students toWrite English Vocabulary at the Second Grade Junior High School. (Supervisedby Hafirah Patang and Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman)

The researcher aims to determine whether the use of the dictation method
is effective in teaching students to write english vocabulary or not. The population
in this researcher are the students of class VIII.A SMPN 4 Palopo. The total
population in this research was 176 students. This research uses simple random
sampling as a technique to get the sample. The number of samples of this research
are 25 students. The results of this research showed that the mean value of the
post-test was 89.20 which is higher than the pre-test (43.60). It means that there
was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test. Besides that, it is
suppported by comparing the results of the t-test where the p-value is smaller than
the significant level (α) (0.00<0.05). Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.
Based on the results of the study, the researcher concluded that the dictation
method is effective in teaching students to write english vocabulary
