Students‟ difficulties are problems experienced by students when doing listening Skill and can affect the ability of these students. This research was aimed
to find out the students‟ difficulties in learning listening skill. This research
employed descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of this research
were the fifth semester students English education study program cokroaminoto
palopo University by using purposive sampling technique. The data was collected
from listening test and questionnaire. The result of this ressearch showed that the
difficulties that the students faced in listening skill were related into three
Categories. They were related to the listening material, the listener, and the
physical setting and factors that cause students difficulties in listening. They were
students have low intelligence or learning disability in understanding the material.
Student depends on the other. The media and tools used during listening.
