Kiki Rosanti. 2022. Using Pictures Media to Improve Students’ Vocabulary at SMPN 4 Palopo ( Supervised by Paldy and Hafirah Patang )

This research aims to improve students’ vocabulary. The subjects of this
research were seventh grade students of SMPN 4 Palopo and this research used
quantitative methods. The researcher used a pre-experimental design. There are 25
students who follow the process. The data shows that students improve their
ability to understand and memorize English vocabulary. The results of the
analysis showed a significant difference between the students mean score of the
pre-test and post-test. In the pre-test the students mean score is 52.27 and post-test
is 95.45. This is also seen in the results of the probability value is less than α
(0.000 < 0.05), this indicates that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted, and
the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Based on the results of the research, the
researcher concluded that the use of picture media in teaching vocabulary can
improve students’ vocabulary.
