ISLA AULIA. 2022. The Effectiveness of Using Anagram Media in Increasing Students’ Vocabulary Knowledge of Second Grade Students at SMP Satap Sampeang. (Supervised by Hafirah Patang and Suhardi).

The objective of the research is to find out the effectiveness of Anagram
media to improve students’ vocabulary knowledge. The population of this
research was the second grade students of SMP Satap Sampeang, which consisted
of 1 class, with 13 students, and those students became the research samples. The
method of this research was a descriptive quantitative method. Then the
researcher analyzed the data by using Statistical Product and Service Solution
(SPSS). The findings of this research showed that there was significant difference
between the mean scores in pre-test and post-test. The result showed that the mean
score of the pre-test is 36, and in the post-test is 83.85. Furthermore, it also can be
seen by comparing the result of the t-test where the p-value (0.00) is smaller than
the significance level α (0.05) or 0.00<0.05. It can be concluded that the Null
Hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (H1) is accepted.
Therefore, the researcher concluded that the use of the Anagram media is effective
to improve students’ vocabulary knowledge in terms of adjectives, verbs and
nouns.
