Hera. 2022, The Effectiveness of Using Spinning Wheel in Teaching Speaking at the Eight Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Palopo (Supervised by Hafirah Patang and Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman)

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of using Spinning Wheel in
teaching speaking at the eight grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Palopo. The
sample of the research were 15 students of VIII C at SMP Negeri 1 Palopo. The
data of this research was collected through speaking test as the research
instrument in pre-test and post-test and the data analyzed by using quantitative
analysis. The mean score of students in pre-test was 26.53 which is lower than the
mean score of students in post-test, i.e. 52.13. The result of the p-value by using
SPSS program 24 showed that the (P) is 0.00 and the (�) is 0.05. Therefore P< �
(0.00<0.05). It means that the null hypothesis (H0) rejected and alternative
hypothesis (H1) is accepted. It can be concluded that the use of spinning wheel is
effective in teaching speaking at the eight grade students SMP Negeri 1 Palopo.
