The objective of this research is to find out the students‟ perception of factors affecting students‟ speaking performance at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Satap Sabbang Selatan. The research applied descriptive quantitative method. The
population of this research was eight grade students at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Satap
Sabbang Selatan. The total number of the population were 26. In determining the
sample, the researcher use total sampling technique. Based on the result of data
analysis, the researcher concludes that the Students‟ perception of factors
affecting students‟ speaking performance at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Satap Sabbang
Selatan is positive. It is supported by the average of students 71,73 that can be
classified as positive.
