Mimma Wandasari. 2024. Students’ Vocabulary Competence at The Seventh Grade of SMPN Satap Pongsamelung (supervised by Hafirah Patang and Paldy). The research aims to find out the students’ vocabulary competence at SMPN Satap Pongsamelung. The population of this research was the seventh grade students of SMPN Satap Pongsamelung. There were 61 students as the research population. By using random sampling Technique, 29 students were chosen as the research samples. The researcher used descriptive quantitative method to know the students’ competence in vocabulary. The instrument of this research was a vocabulary test. The vocabulary test is in multiple choice form. The researcher found that the mean score of students’ vocabulary competence is 55.62. It can be concluded that the students’ vocabulary competence at the seventh grade of SMPN Satap Pongsamelung is categorized as poor and it needs to be improved.
