This study was conducted to know how effective The Use of Snakes and Ladders Game in Teaching Vocabulary in Seventh Grade at SMP Datok Sulaiman Palopo. In particular, with material describing animals. The method used in this
research is quantitative method. The system of this research, by giving the material
first with a pre-test, after obtaining the initial value data, the snake and ladder game
application is used. Next, a post-test was conducted to determine how effective the
application of the snake and ladder game with descriptive material was. Aspects
assessed from this research are vocabulary, understanding, fluency, and
pronunciation. The use of snakes and ladders game in teaching vocabulary at SMP
Datok Sulaiman Palopo is effective. This can be seen after doing the treatment. The
results showed a significant difference between the students' mean scores on the
pre-test and post-test. In pre-test, the mean score of the students was 61.55, and the
mean score of the students in the post-test was 83.97
