Animation Video at SMP Kristen Rante Damai (supervised Sri Damayanti, and
Reski Yusrini Islamiah Yunus).
This research aims at determining the effectiveness of animation video in
teaching students’ vocabulary in the classroom of SMP Kristen Rante Damai.
The subject of this research is the seventh grade students of SMP Kristen Rante
Damai in South Sulawesi. This type of research is a pre-experimental research
with pre-test, treatment and post-test designs. This research used a total sampling
where the researcher took 23 students as research samples. The instrument
research was vocabulary test. The results of the study show that the method of
using animated videos is an effective method to improve students' vocabulary. It
can be seen from the students’ scores on the pre-test, where the average score on
pre-test was 69.76 and the post-test was 86.19. It can beside after comparing the
results of the t-test where the t-value is smaller than the significant level (a)
(0.000<0.05). Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the results of the
study, the researchers concluded that the use of animated videos effective in
improving students' vocabulary.
