Alwiwana. 2022. Investigating Vocabulary Learning Strategies Used by the Students at SMP Nusantara Palopo (supervised by Musliadi and Arny Irhany Asmin). The research aims to examine vocabulary learning strategies used by the students at SMP Nusantara Palopo. The method applied in this research was descriptive quantitative method. The researcher chose eighth-grade students of SMP Nusantara Palopo as the population. The researcher used a cluster random sampling technique. The total number of the sample was 25 students. The instrument of this research was a questionnaire. The research results revealed that the students used some vocabulary learning strategies at SMP Nusantara Palopo. They are determination, memory, social, cognitive, and metacognitive strategies. The data proved that the students applied various strategies in learning vocabulary mastery. The students also believe that using many kinds of vocabulary learning strategies will help students to expand or improve their vocabulary mastery.
