Abstract
Fatriawati Pratiwi. 2024. The Effectiveness of Flashcard to Improve Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at Smpn 2 Bua Ponrang (supervised Andi Mangnguntungi Sudirman and Reski Yusrini Islamiah Yunus)
This study aimed to increase students skill in learning vocabulary by using Flashcard as a media. The researcher used quantitative method with pre-experimental is research design. The population of this study was students of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang, with a total population of 199 students, while the sample consisted of 22 students. This study used cluster sampling technique to determine the sample. In collecting data, researchers conduted pre-test, treatment, and post-
test. The students score after the treatment is higher than before treatment. It indicated a difference in the mean score in the pre-test and post-test. The mean score in the pre-test is 65.90 is lower than in the post-test is 93.18. furthermore, the writer found that α (0.05) was higher than the p-value (0.00). It indicated that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. As a result, there is a significant difference
in the score of students before and after giving Flash Card as a learning media. Based on the data analysis above, the researcher concluded that Flash Card effectively taught vocabulary to the eight grade of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang.
