Speaking skill at second semester university (Supervised by Sri Rahayu and Reski
Yusrini Islamiah Yunus).
This research was to see if storytelling method can improve students’
speaking skill, the objective of this research is to see if storytelling could improve
speaking skill of class 2A English class university cokroaminoto. The sample of
this research was consisted of 15 students of Class 2A English Class University
Cokroaminoto palopo. The data of this research was collected through speaking
test as the research instrument in pre-test and post-test which was analyzed data
by quantitative analysis. The mean score of students in the pre-test is 51, 20 lower
than the mean score of students in the post-test 81, 53. It addition, H0 is higher
than p-value (0.05>0.00). In the significant test analysis. it indicates that H0 is
rejected and H1 is accepted. It conclude that the use the Storytelling method can
improve student’s speaking skill at Class 2A English class University Cokroaminoto Palopo
