Writing Performance at the XI Grade SMA Negeri 6 Palopo (Supervisor I: Paldy.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of outdoor learning activities
in improving students’ writing performance at SMA Negeri 6 Palopo. The
research empployed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post
test approach. The sample consisted of 34 students selected through random
sampling. This instrument used in this study was a writing test administered
before and after the implementation of outdoor learning activities. The data were
analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistic through SPSS. The findings
showed that the mean score in the pre-test was 60.44, while the mean score in the
post-test increased to 85.88. furthermore, the result of the paired sample t-test
revealed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, which was lower than the
significance level of 0.05. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that
outdoor learning activities significantly improved students’ writing performance.
Therefore, outdoor learning activities can be considered an effective teaching
strategy to enhance students’ writing skills.
