This study aims to determine students’ speaking skills using movies at SMA Negeri 5 Palopo. This study employed a quantitative method with a pre experimental design consisting of pre-test and post-test. The sampling technique used in this study was Simple Random Sampling, with a sample size of 31 students. The instrument used in this study was a speaking test to measure students’ speaking skills before and after treatment. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 20. The results showed that there was a difference between the students’ pre-test and post-test scores. The mean score pre-test students is 42.10 with a standard deviation of 13.215, while the mean score post-test students is 62.26 with a standard deviation of 14.597. The results the normally test indicate that the data are not normally distributed. Consequently, a non-parametric test was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that the Asmp. Sig (2-tailed) value was 0.000, since 0.000 (< 0.05), H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the average learning outcomes of students, both from the pre-test and post-test, using movies can enhance the speaking skills of 11-th grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Palopo.
