Teaching Vocabulary to the Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 1 Luwu Timur.

This research aims to find out the effect of using Mobile Legends game
media in improving students’ vocabulary mastery. The researcher used a
quantitative method with a pre-experimental design which included a pre-test and
post-test. The subject of the research was 30 eighth grade students of SMPN 1
Luwu Timur. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test to measure students’
vocabulary mastery before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed using a
t-test with the help of the IBM SPSS program. The results showed that there was a
significant difference in the students’ average scores before and after using the
Mobile Legends game media. In the pre-test, the average score was 52.10, while
in the post-test, the average score increased to 68.50. The t-test showed a
significance value of <0.001 (<0.05), which means there was a significant
difference between the pre-test and post-test results. These findings indicate that
using Mobile Legends game media is effective in improving students’ vocabulary
mastery. Therefore, Mobile Legends can be used as an alternative media for
teaching vocabulary in a more engaging and enjoyable way.
