The objective of this research aimed to find out the students‟ pronunciation
and grammar errors in speaking ability at the second grade of SMAN 09 Luwu.
The subject of this research was the second-grade students in senior high
school in south Sulawesi, they were of the 20 students were selected
students from class 2 IPA from 3 classes, namely 7 students from XI IPA 1, 6
students from XI IPA 2, and 7 students from XI IPA 3. The researcher applied
purposive sampling. Then the researcher analyzed the data used descriptive
qualitative as the design of this research. The data collections technique used in
this researcher were observations and speaking task. The observations were to
know the students in pronouncing English words and errors grammar. The
speaking task was to know the student's deals with pronunciation errors. From the
researcher observations, the researcher got the most errors pronunciations
produced by the students to cause the students making errors in speaking ability.
