Abstract

Andi Wulandari. 2020. An Analysis of Students’ Learning Speaking Strategies of Smanet English Club at SMAN 3 Palopo (supervised by Sri Damayanti and Rahmawati Upa’) The research aims to find out the strategies that the students of Smanet English Club used. The subject of the research was the students of English Club at SMAN 3 Palopo total number of the students is 25 students. The researcher used descriptive quantitative research design. The researcher used a questionnaire as the instrument of the research. The result of the research is the students of Smanet English Club used all learning strategies, including memory strategy, cognitive strategy, compensation strategy, metacognitive strategy, affective strategy, and social strategy. Furthermore, metacognitive strategy becomes the most widely used by the students of Smanet English Club. Social strategy and affective strategy become seldom used by the students of Smanet English Club.
