Abstract

Rika Nabila P. 2020. Improving Students` Vocabulary by Using Observe and Remeber Games at Second Grade in SMPN Satap Lumaring (supervised by Rusdiana Junaid and Suhardi). This thezsis aims to fine out whether using observe and remember games is effective or not in improving students` vocabulary at second grade in SMPN Satap Lumaring. The method used in this reseach was experimental method. The population this research is 23 students from one of several class in the grade. The reseacher usedsaturation sampling technique to take the sample. The instrument of this research was vocabulary test. The data analyzed quantitatively. The result of statistical analysis for level of significance (α) = 0.05 shows that α (0.05) > significance (0.000). It means that null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. So there is significant difference before and after treatment. It can be seen from the result of the mean score in pre-test which is lower than the mean score in post-test. Therefore, the researcher concludes that observe and remember games can improve the students` vocabulary.
