Abstract

Uci Angraeni. 2020. Implementation of Posse Technique in Teaching Reading Comprehension at SMA Datok Sulaiman Palopo (supervised by Rusdiana Junaid And Musfirah ) The aim of the research was to explore the effectiveness of implementing posse technique effective in teaching reading comprehension at SMA Datok Sulaiman Palopo. The population of this research was the eleven grade students of SMA Datok Sulaiman Palopo. The researcher used purposive sampling technique to take the samples and total number of the sample was 20 students. The instrument of the research was reading test. The result of the research shows that POSSE (predicting, organizing, searching, summarizing, and evaluating) technique is effective to improve students’ reading comprehension. In the pre test found the students’ reading comprehension categorized as “fair and very poor” with the mean score is 49. 75 and standard deviation is 10. 41 while, the students’ reading comprehension in the post test categorized as good with the mean score is 76.45 and standard deviation is 5.98. It indicates that the students’ reading comprehension is better after conduction treatment.
